Lee Apt

Lee Apt originally pursued art in High school in New York and in her first year of college at the University of Miami before her education career was interrupted by raising a family. After returning to higher education, she received degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. She then had a business career before returning to art and is a full-time sculpture.

Initially, Apt’s work was sculpted from life– figurative and portraiture, with the goal of capturing the drama and emotion of her subjects. She now has turned to working in abstract and is exploring sculpting in a different way. As a mixed media artist, she primarily uses reclaimed wood and acrylic to create geometric, architectural, colorful sculptures that reflect the urban environment she lives in.

Apt has been exhibited in many galleries around New York. Additionally, her work is in many private collections around the country and in Mexico City, Mexico.
